Ian is one.
This past weekend we celebrated Ian turning one. I was pretty much the mom that had everything planned for his first birthday since he hit 6 months, the color theme, the cake, everything. I was also the mom who left everything until the last minute, yes I was a complete mess trying to get things ready the day before his party and during his party. Thankfully Ian's father, my boyfriend was very helpful and patient with me. He basically let me choose and do everything the way I had it pictured in my head.

The day of his party didn't go very smoothly, we were at least an hour late to his party and I didn't even get to do my hair! I didn't get a chance to buy him a number one balloon or make him a happy birthday banner which I am still upset about but although I was only able to decorate a tiny bit I think it's safe to say we all had a great day especially the birthday boy. (One of the many difficult tasks was deciding what photos I wanted to be on display during Ians birthday party...it was so hard to choose.)

This was probably one of the few pictures that I am in and although I don't look all that great in it, it is still one of my favorite pictures of all time.

We were most excited about Ian's cake smash. His birthday was on Thursday the 24th, we gave him a cupcake and he was beyond excited he got completely covered in frosting and it was the cutest thing ever! The day after he also got to eat another cupcake because I was baking and the same thing happened. So to say the least we really did think he was going to be covered head to toe in frosting for his cake smash. We were WRONG! He poked at his cake with his candle (it was obviously not lit) but that was basically it the only person covered in cake was me! His aunty Nicole seemed to really enjoy his party as well especially when it was time for Ian to open up his gifts, she sort of opened all of them for him and tested his gifts out for him as well. All in all I truly do believe it was an amazing day and I wouldn't have asked for better company I truly do appreciate everyone who was able to make it. I can probably cry just thinking about how loved Ian is and it makes me absolutely happy. So thank you if you showed up it means the world to us. I didn't realize how emotional I would be, I have a one year old. Time just flew by so quickly and I am absolutely loving every single moment of motherhood.
